Restaurant Week New York City 2024

    [ad_1]

    NYC Restaurant Week
    Summer, Winter, French, Malaysian, Japan

Restaurant Week New York City is one of my favorite times of the year and now, since the event has been so successful, newer versions are starting to crop up everywhere, including ethnic Restaurant Weeks, like Japanese, Chinatown, Malyasian, French, Belgian and also neighborhood-specific restaurant weeks. A three-course dinner at the best restaurants in New York for $45? Sign me up!

Restaurant Week New York City allows us to eat at NYC’s best restaurants twice a year for bargain prices. Every Winter (Jan/Feb) and Summer (July/Aug), some of our best restaurants offer prix-fixe meals for $30, $45 or $60.

    Winter Restaurant Week 2024

    • January 16-February 4, 2024. Reservations open January 9, 2024.
    • July 24-August 20, 2023. Reservations opened July 6, 2023.

    NYC Restaurant Week

New Yorkers LOVE our NYC bargains! NYC Restaurants offer a trio of pricing options which they may offer during meal periods of their choosing (lunch, dinner or both).

    Tao Restaurant Uptown NYC

    Tao Restaurant, Midtown, NYC (photo)

Per nyctourism.com about Winter Restaurant Week, “NYC Restaurant Week offers prix-fixe two-course lunches and three-course dinners for $30, $45 and $60 at over 600 restaurants across all five boroughs. A complete list of participating restaurants and reservations are available at nyctourism.com/restaurantweek .”

Below are restaurants from Prior NYC Restaurant Weeks.

According to nyctourism.com, “Leading restaurateurs and restaurants participating in this year’s program include: José Andrés (Mercado Little Spain); Joe Bastianich (Babbo, Casa Mono, Eataly, Lupa); Tren’ness Woods-Black (Sylvia’s); Daniel Boulud (Bar Boulud, Epicerie Boulud); Andrew Carmellini (Bar Primi, The Dutch, Lafayette, Leuca, Locanda Verde, Westlight); Leah Cohen (Pig & Khao); Lisa Fernandes (Sweet Chili); Daniel Kruger (Loring Place); Keith McNally (Minetta Tavern, Morandi, Pastis); Danny Meyer (Blue Smoke, Daily Provisions, Gramercy Tavern, Intersect by Lexus, Marta, Tacocina, Union Square Cafe); Marcus Samuelsson (Red Rooster); Ed Schoenfeld (RedFarm); Stephen Starr (El Vez, Pastis, Upland); Michael Stillman (Quality Eats); Jean-Georges Vongerichten (The Fulton, JoJo, Mercer Kitchen, Nougatine, Perry Street); Melba Wilson (Melba’s). The following five restaurant participants were part of the NYC Restaurant Week program upon its inception in 1992: Fraunces Tavern, Golden Unicorn, Jing Fong, Sylvia’s and Union Square Cafe.”

I love a good bargain almost as much as I love good food and NYC Restaurant Week allows everyone to enjoy a great meal at a great price in NYC. It almost feels like you’re stealing…only you’re not.

Restaurant Week New York City Insider Tips

    • The three-course, prix-fixe meals for $29 (lunch) and $42 (dinner) do not include beverages, tip or tax.
    • Most restaurants do not participate during the weekends, so don’t expect a Saturday night prime time table during Restaurant Week in NYC.
    • Review the menu in advance, as there are usually fewer choices on the RW menu. If you have eating restrictions, you may be limited.
    • Monday to Wednesday reservations tend to be easier to get than those for Thursday and Friday.
    • When making a reservation, be sure to mention you are booking for Restaurant Week.
    • When being seated, ask for the Restaurant Week menu if it is not offered.
    • Tip the server based on the usual price of the meal, not the Restaurant Week price, especially if you’ve had good service. Remember, the server is (or should be) doing their job exactly as they normally do when meals are full priced.

Top Picks for NYC Restaurant Week Steals & Deals

We can honestly recommend every single restaurant on the above list of NYC Restaurant Week restaurants. You can’t go wrong with any of them. Here are some other highlights:

    Tao Downtown

Tao Downtown is a trendy and popular spot for NYC Restaurant Week. This Asian-inspired restaurant offers a unique and upscale dining experience, with a menu that features dishes like the crispy rice tuna, lobster wontons and Peking duck. The atmosphere is sleek and modern, with a giant Buddha statue (the above photo is midtown) and a stunning 40-foot-long bar. Don’t miss out on their signature dessert, the giant fortune cookie filled with white and dark chocolate mousse. Tao Downtown is a must-visit for anyone looking for a chic and delicious dining experience.

    Scarpetta

Scarpetta at The James New York – NoMad is a must-try during NYC Restaurant Week. This Italian restaurant offers a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere, perfect for a romantic date night or a special occasion. Their menu features classic Italian dishes with a modern twist, such as the creamy polenta with truffled mushrooms, the spaghetti with tomato and basil and of course, their signature homeage ravioli. Don’t forget to save room for their famous dessert, the chocolate cake with salted caramel gelato.

Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

We loved the Intrepid! We learned a ton about different old and new war planes and ships and got to take a lot of cool pictures with all of them. The museum itself is on the the former aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, which fought in World War II, surviving five kamikaze attacks and one torpedo strike. Then it went on to serve in the Cold War and the Vietnam War.

    Walk the Highline

    Walk the Highline with Kids

When my friend, Kimberly, visited with her two girls, she said, “The Highline was a Highlight! We LOVE THE HIGHLINE.” New York City’s newest public park, in the Meatpacking District, along the water, is an elevated walkway, above street level, made from converted railroad tracks. The benches are hooked up to the original train tracks and move sideways along the tracks. Kim’s girls climbed and jumped around on the benches and loved pressing their faces against the glass in the amphitheater overlooking 9th Avenue. “We couldn’t pull them away from here.”
