Bear strolls into California Highway Patrol office – Daily News
Bear,strolls,California,Highway,Patrol,office A bear opened a police station door and wandered into the building in a Californian mountain town.The wild animal stood on its back legs and had no trouble opening a side door as it casually strolled into a California Highway Patrol (CHP) office.It stayed in the highway patrol officer for a few minutes before running away when two officers arrived.  In an online video shared on Facebook by the CHP on Saturday, the bear can be seen through a window standing on its back legs outside the Donner Pass Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility in Truckee, north of Lake Tahoe. CCTV footage showed the beast has a peek inside and then pulls the door open. It drops to all fours and wanders past a vending machine and into the office.The bear can be seen reflected in a window as it looks around.Eventually, the bear walks out the same way it came in, then moments later, two armed officers quickly follow the animal out the door.   Share this article Share Another bear, or maybe the same one, was spotted int the station’s car park of a week later.The CHP says its ‘unexpected visitor’ arrived the night of November 17.On Saturday, authorities at Donner Pass wrote their ‘bear friend made a return visit’ as he was spotted in the parking lot of their facility last week.
