Pacifics stunned in ninth inning by Martinez

The San Rafael Pacifics suffered their third setback of the season, giving up four runs in the bottom of the ninth in an 11-10 home loss to the Martinez Sturgeon on Sunday night.

San Rafael (15-3 Pecos) trailed 4-0 early but surged back in front during a six-run seventh inning that staked it to an 8-5 lead.

San Rafael tacked on an insurance run in the eighth but Martinez scored twice to pull within 9-7. Another insurance runs in the ninth gave San Rafael a 10-7 lead but the Pacifics were unable to hold it.

Tyler Georgeson had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Pacifics.

San Rafael pitchers allowed 11 hits and eight walks against 10 strikeouts on the day. The Pacifics committed three errors but only one of the 11 runs was unearned.
